Engrossed in an intimate display of self-preservation, my eyes frantically scan a magazine desperate not to lock onto anyone else. I read the same paragraph over and over learning one thing of the myriad facts from the article. The pheromones I'm emitting must stink of fear. My body betraying me hoping for a pitying party.

I eat what I can which is yogurt and peppermint tea, vacating as soon as legs will allow it. Back in the room I get familiar with the cracks and stains of the toilet bowl, wondering if breakfast will stay down today. Again tomorrow.
